1. Agreement to these terms
By accessing or using this website, booking an appointment, requesting a quote, or engaging our veterinary services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use this website or our services.
2. Who we are
Coburg Vet Pty Ltd (ABN 86 702 550 838) is an Australian proprietary limited company, with its registered office in Perth, WA, providing veterinary clinic services including consultations, vaccinations, preventive care, diagnostics, surgery and dental care to clients in Coburg VIC and surrounding suburbs. References to “we”, “us” and “our” in these terms mean Coburg Vet Pty Ltd.
3. General information only — not emergency care
Content on this website is provided for general information purposes only. It does not constitute veterinary advice, a diagnosis or a treatment plan for any individual animal. The health of your pet depends on circumstances that only an in-person examination can properly assess.
If your pet is experiencing an emergency, such as severe bleeding, breathing difficulty, collapse, seizures, suspected poisoning or serious injury, attend your nearest veterinary hospital or emergency animal centre immediately. Do not rely on this website in an emergency.
4. Veterinary services and clinical judgement
All veterinary services are provided by, or under the supervision of, registered veterinary practitioners exercising their own professional and clinical judgement. Any recommendation regarding treatment, medication, surgery, anaesthesia or euthanasia will be discussed with you before it is carried out, and your informed consent will be sought. We reserve the right to decline or discontinue treatment where it is unsafe, impractical, or not in the welfare interests of the animal.
5. Quotes, estimates and bookings
Estimates and quotes provided through our quote page, in person or by email are prepared in good faith based on the information available at the time. Unless expressly stated in writing to be a fixed quote, an estimate is indicative only, and the final fee may vary depending on the actual services required, the complexity of the case, medications dispensed and any complications encountered. We will endeavour to advise you as soon as reasonably practicable if costs are likely to materially exceed an estimate.
6. Fees, payment and accounts
Fees for our services are payable in full at the time of consultation, discharge or delivery, unless an approved account arrangement exists in writing. Our fees are quoted in Australian dollars and, where applicable, include GST. We accept the payment methods advised at our clinic or on this website. Overdue accounts may be referred to a collection process, and reasonable recovery costs may be payable to the extent permitted by law.
7. Cancellations, rescheduling and no-shows
We ask that you provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, so that the appointment slot can be offered to another animal in need. Repeated non-attendance without notice may result in a fee for the missed appointment or in us requiring pre-payment for future bookings, to the extent permitted by law.
8. Owner responsibilities
By engaging our services, you confirm that you are the owner of the animal, or are duly authorised by the owner to consent to treatment. You agree to:
- provide accurate and complete information about your pet’s medical history, medications, allergies and prior treatment;
- ensure your pet is safely restrained or contained on our premises, including by lead, carrier or cage;
- disclose any known history of aggression or anxiety so we can manage the visit safely; and
- follow the aftercare, medication and follow-up instructions provided by our veterinary team.
Where an animal is presented by a person other than the registered owner, that person warrants they have authority to consent to treatment and to incur fees on the owner’s behalf.
9. Medications, prescriptions and dispensing
Prescription medications are dispensed only in accordance with the directions of a registered veterinary practitioner and applicable legislation in Victoria. A current veterinary examination may be required before a prescription is issued or renewed. You agree to use all medications strictly as directed, to follow any stated storage or handling requirements, and to contact us promptly at ceo@coburgvet.site if an adverse reaction is observed. Medications supplied may not be returned for refund except as required by law.

13. Australian Consumer Law — your consumer guarantees
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy conferred on you by the Australian Consumer Law (being Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other applicable law that cannot be excluded, restricted or modified by agreement.
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including that services will be rendered with due care and skill, will be reasonably fit for purpose, and will be supplied within a reasonable time. If our services fail to meet a applicable consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy such as resupply of the services or a refund, as provided under the Australian Consumer Law.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, and subject always to clause 13:
- we exclude all conditions, warranties and representations not expressly set out in these terms;
- where liability for breach of a non-excludable consumer guarantee relates to services, our liability is limited, at our option, to the resupply of the services or the cost of having the services resupplied;
- where such liability relates to goods, our liability is limited, at our option, to the replacement or repair of the goods or the cost of replacement or repair;
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, including loss of enjoyment of a companion animal, except where such exclusion is not permitted by law.
Nothing in this clause limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
15. Privacy
We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. By using our website and services, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your information as described there.
16. Website availability and changes
We aim to keep this website available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful code. We may modify, suspend or withdraw any part of the website, including content, features and availability, at any time without notice.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with the date of the most recent update. Continued use of the website or our services after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
18. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the Commonwealth of Australia, and you and we submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria. If you have a concern about our services, please contact us first so we can work to resolve it promptly and fairly. You may also be entitled to make a complaint to Consumer Affairs Victoria or, where relevant, the Veterinary Practitioners Board of Victoria.
